This policy explains what personal data the Vocamate mobile app (Android and iOS, package name com.emrealtun.vocamate) and the vocamate.info website collect, how it is used and how you can exercise your rights. Vocamate is developed by Emre Altun, the data controller ("we"). Questions can be sent to destek@vocamate.info.
1. Data we collect

Your search history and some settings are stored only on your device. Words are read aloud using your device's text-to-speech; Vocamate does not use your microphone or record audio. We do not access your location, contacts, photos or payment card details. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play or Apple.
Guest mode: You can use the app as a guest without an account. We do not ask for a name or email in that case; your progress is stored on your device and under a random user ID. If you create an account later, your guest progress is moved to it.
2. Third-party services
Vocamate uses the following services, which process data under their own privacy policies:
- Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): sign-in, data storage and usage statistics. Firebase privacy information
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: only your name and email address are shared when you use them. With Apple you can choose to hide your email.
- Google AdMob: the free version shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and approximate location to serve and measure ads. Google advertising policy
- Google Play Billing and the Apple App Store: Premium subscription payments.
You can turn off ad personalisation in your device settings: on Android under Settings > Google > Ads, on iOS under Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising / Tracking. Premium users do not see ads.
3. Where and how long data is stored
Account data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located outside Turkey (for example in the US or EU). We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your name, email and learning data are permanently deleted. At deletion we may keep the reason you selected and anonymous statistics that contain no personal information (days used, number of learned words, level, whether you were Premium) to improve the app. Word reports are kept for at most 12 months after review.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, as far as needed for the app to work, or with authorities when required by law.
5. Your rights (KVKK and GDPR)
Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and, if you live in the EU, the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint. To exercise these rights, email destek@vocamate.info. You can also delete your account and data directly in the app: Delete account.
6. Children
Vocamate is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe this has happened, contact us and we will delete the data.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by Firebase security rules. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. For significant changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
